(note: I got some CDs for Christmas…)

A Man of No Importance
You just have to love who you love.

Elegies for Angels, Punks and Raging Queens
If we can learn any lesson from these acres of grief,
It’s to live for what we have now.

The Last 5 Years
Some people can’t get success with their art,
Some people never feel love in their heart,
Some people can’t tell the two things apart,
But I keep rollin’ on.

And one bonus lesson I learned:

john & jen
George Washington wanted to own a country
But he was poor, he was poor
So he sold cherry trees from his truck
And when he had enough money
He moved to the United States with his dog, Martha.
But his friends from before
Were mad that he left
So they came to kill him.
He ran to the river
With the bad guys behind
And parted the waters
And walked through them with his dog, Martha.
But the river closed and swallowed up the bad guys, so he moved
To Valley Forgery with his dog, Martha
Where he invented money with his face on it
And everybody used it so he got rich enough
To buy the country
And make himself president.
But what did he say
As he went on his way?
You gotta think big
Aim high.
Why rent when you can buy?
You gotta think big
Stand tall
And you can do anything at all.

Wow, Man In Chair! You managed to include two of my recent favorite musicals, “The Last Five Year” and “Man of No Importance.” I think I learned a lot from those shows as well.

Steve, as Esther postedon her site, those are two shows I truly regret not having seen, as well as “Hello Again.” I have been secretly staging “A Man of No Importance” in my head since I got the CD.

“A Man of No Importance” is such a touching show. Hope you get to see it, even if as your own creation!
