This edition of Theatre Geek TV features little snippets from several of the musicals currently running at the New York Musical Theatre Festival. As always, my running comments are posted after the clip.

Yellow Wood
NYMT Video Snippets courtesy of Broadwayworld.com

® Sympathy Jones: Kate Shindle successfully demonstrates the fine line between belting and shouting at the top of your lungs.
® The Yellow Wood: Jason Tam has a great voice, and he can’t seem to stand still while he sings about standing still. [UPDATE: I read in the NYT today that he is playing a young man who has gone off his A.D.D. medication for the day, so that kinda makes sense…]
® Such Good Friends: Cutoffs, people! Cutoffs!
® Roller Derby: Lea Delaria doesn’t give a flying f**k what she looks like in public. Gotta love her for that.
® Tully (In No Particular Order): Featuring Austin Miller’s completely crotch-centered performance.
® Angle of the Sun: Not a dazzling clip. Better samples at the Angle of the Sun web site.
® Look What a Wonder Jesus Has Done: A rousing finale.

How lucky NYMF was to have the mega-talented Austin Miller for a second season. What a joy to watch him perform.
